The Bermondsey Neighbourhood Community Meeting approved funding for a range of local projects through the Cleaner Greener Safer programme and the Neighbourhoods Fund. The meeting also allocated funds for highway improvements across the Bermondsey area.

Cleaner Greener Safer 2026-27: Capital Funding Allocation

The Bermondsey Neighbourhood Community Meeting approved the allocation of £132,230 for the Cleaner Greener Safer (CGS) capital programme for 2026-27. This funding includes a reallocation of £4,430 from previous years' underspends and project cancellations. A significant portion of the budget was allocated to projects in North Bermondsey ward, with £7,000 awarded to the Millpond Estate TRA for fence replacement, £4,000 to Caitlin Renner for Pynfolds Estate playground improvements, and £5,500 to Bede House Association for the Aspinden Garden Update. St James Church Bermondsey PCC received £12,000 for an upgrade to their Garden of Remembrance.

In South Bermondsey ward, £2,500 was allocated to Boutcher Church of England Primary School for replanting an ivy pollution barrier, and £5,000 was awarded to the Setchell Estate TRA for greener edges and plants. The meeting also approved £11,000 for Becky Olaniyi to improve playground access for children with disabilities at Bermondsey Spa Gardens, and £6,500 to Trees for Bermondsey for new planting in the same area.

Neighbourhood Grants (Neighbourhoods Fund 2026-27)

A total of £60,000 was allocated to various projects through the Neighbourhoods Fund for 2026-27. In North Bermondsey ward, the Bermondsey Tuition Hub received £1,000 for a half-term kids/youth camp, and the Foundation for Paediatric Osteopathy was awarded £2,000 for their free specialist paediatric osteopathy service. The Salmon Youth Centre in Bermondsey received £3,500 for their Adventuring Together Project, and Love North Southwark CIC was granted £4,000 for Betty's baby bank. Bermondsey Carnival received £2,500, and the Shad Thames Residents' Association was awarded £3,450 for their Cleaner Shad Thames initiative. Unshackle Dumar received £2,500 for their Move & Rise women's fitness programme.

In South Bermondsey ward, Drawing Room received £1,500 for their Make & Play – Holiday Programme. Millwall Community Trust was awarded £1,000 for their Kicks Community Football @ Ellen Brown APG programme. Longfield TRA received £3,000 for their Longfield Fun Day. Unity Music Arts Team CIC was granted £500 for Let's Make Music & Dance at The Blue Market 2026. Rouel Blue Garden Club received £400 for Rouel Community Garden Summer Events, and Trees for Bermondsey was awarded £400 for Orchard Celebrations, Events and Workshops. Spring Community Hub received £1,000 for their Thrive - Youth and Community programme and £1,500 for Working Parents Holiday Activity Camps, as well as £2,500 for their Thrive Advice and Advocacy - Bermondsey service. Harris Federation received £1,000 to support their Community Hub. Bermondsey Carnival also received £1,750 for their South Bermondsey ward activities. Big Local Works was granted £3,950 for their Welfare Benefits information and support for North Southwark service, and Bermondsey Community Kitchen received £3,000 for their Winter Warmth Program. Tower Hamlets Youth Sport Federation was awarded £1,500 for Platform Cricket Hubs: Bermondsey Bees, and Musical Mayhem London CIC received £2,000 for their Musical Mayhem Bursary Fund - Appleby Blue. Manor Estate community meals received £750, and Jasmine Kuti-Smith was awarded £900 for the Freedom Project. Grow London CIC received £1,000 for Galleywall Nature Reserve Community Engagement 2025.

Devolved Highways Budget 2026-27: Capital Funding Allocation

The meeting approved the allocation of £79,285 for the 2026-27 Devolved Highways Budget (DHB) programme in the Bermondsey Neighbourhood. This includes a reallocation of £3,095 from previous years' underspends. In North Bermondsey ward, £10,000 was allocated for Collett Road speed humps, £5,000 for a bike hangar on Slippers Place, £5,000 for a bike hangar in Shad Thames, and £3,000 for Sheffield Bike stands at Courage Yard and Slippers Place. An additional £15,095 was allocated for various highway improvements. In South Bermondsey ward, £15,000 was approved for Chaucer Drive humps and £15,000 for Oxley Close humps. A further £11,190 was allocated for Build-outs for Trees and SUDS proposed by an individual.
