The Ealing Council Planning Committee met on Wednesday, 18 March 2026, to discuss three planning applications. The committee granted planning permission for a new industrial development at 16 Eastman Road, Acton, and approved minor material amendments to the Waitrose store redevelopment at 2 Alexandria Road, West Ealing. They also approved reserved matters for landscaping at The Transport Yard in Wood End Gardens, Northolt.
16 Eastman Road, Acton, W3 7YG (Southfield ward)
The committee granted planning permission for the demolition of existing buildings and the erection of a single-storey multi-let industrial and/or logistics units with ancillary office space, associated parking, and landscaping at 16 Eastman Road, Acton. The development will provide 9,140 sqm of industrial floorspace, an increase from the existing 8,061 sqm. The decision was made subject to the satisfactory completion of legal agreements under Section 106 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 and Section 278 of the Highways Act 1980, along with a Community Infrastructure Levy payment to the Greater London Authority.
Waitrose, 2 Alexandria Road, West Ealing, W13 0NL (Hanwell Broadway)
Planning permission was granted for minor material amendments to the existing planning permission for the redevelopment of the Waitrose site at 2 Alexandria Road, West Ealing. The amendments include design changes to the internal and external layout, relocation of the store service yard, reduction in link block building heights, and changes to façade, fenestration, landscaping, and amenity space. Crucially, the amendments will provide an additional 37 homes, increasing the total from 428 to 465 units, while maintaining the proportion of affordable housing. The decision was subject to the satisfactory completion of a legal agreement under Section 106 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 and relevant conditions.
The Transport Yard, Wood End Gardens, Northolt, UB5 4QH (North Greenford)
Reserved matters were approved for the hard and soft landscaping works associated with Phase 1 of the development at The Transport Yard, Wood End Gardens, Northolt. This phase includes the formation of the access road and landscaping adjacent to it. The approved works involve widening the existing access from Wood End Gardens, resurfacing the access road, and introducing new planting, including a Hornbeam tree and mixed-species hedgerow. The decision was made subject to conditions outlined in Appendix 1 of the report.
