The Pension Board of Lewisham Council was scheduled to convene on Monday, 16 March 2026, to discuss a range of pension fund matters. The agenda included updates on the administration team's work, the rolling action log, and the work programme, alongside a review of the investment monitoring report.
Declarations of Interest
Members of the Pension Board were asked to declare any personal interests they might have in the items on the agenda. This process is a standard part of council meetings, ensuring transparency and adherence to the council's Member Code of Conduct. The report outlined the different types of interests members might have, including disclosable pecuniary interests, other registerable interests, and non-registerable interests, and the implications of declaring them for participation in discussions and decision-making.
Breaches Log
The Board was scheduled to receive an update on the breaches log since the last meeting. The report indicated that there were no breaches to report.
Rolling Action Log
An update on the rolling action log was presented, detailing the status of various ongoing actions. These included updates on the Data Improvement Plan, LGPS Reform and Pooling, and the review of a formal training plan for 2026/27. The log also noted the completion of Action No. 1 regarding the Data Improvement Plan and the sharing of Triennial Valuation report results with Pension Board members.
General Update - Part One
This section of the meeting was set to provide the Board with updates on several general matters that had arisen since the previous meeting. The Administration Team Update covered various projects, including the completion of the Dashboard ISP, ongoing work on the Data Cleansing Tool, and the finalisation of a Data Improvement Plan. The report also detailed the transfer of the Lewisham Pension Fund website to a new hosting solution and the launch of a new pensions portal, Engage - New Members Self-Service (MSS). Updates were also provided on the McCloud remediation work, valuation data discussions with actuaries, and the recruitment process for vacant posts. Planning for end-of-year accounting and processing was also underway.
Work Programme
The Board was scheduled to review the Work Programme as of March 2026, which outlines items to be brought to each quarterly meeting. This included updates on Pension Fund Accounts, the Pension Fund Annual Report, monitoring of investment performance, and LGPS Pooling updates. The review of the Board's Terms of Reference and Membership was also on the programme.
Exclusion of Press and Public
A notice was scheduled to be presented regarding the exclusion of the press and public from certain parts of the meeting. This is a standard procedure when sensitive or exempt information is to be discussed, as defined by the Local Government Act 1972. Items scheduled for private discussion included the General Report - Part Two and the Investment Monitoring Report Q4 December 2025.
Future Meeting Dates
The Board was scheduled to note the dates of future Pension Board meetings, which would be published at the Annual General Meeting of the Council on Wednesday, 20 May 2026.
