County Council - Wednesday, 14th January, 2026 2.00 pm

The Northumberland County Council meeting scheduled for 14 January 2026 was set to cover a range of important local government matters. Key discussions were expected to include the annual safeguarding update, portfolio reports on public safety and adults' services and health, and interim reports from overview and scrutiny committees. The council was also scheduled to consider the approval of the Council Tax Support Scheme for 2026-27, the setting of the Council Tax Base for the same year, and the appointment of Independent Persons to standards committees.

Health and Wellbeing OSC - Tuesday, 6th January, 2026 1.00 pm

The Health and Wellbeing Overview and Scrutiny Committee (OSC) meeting was scheduled to cover a range of important topics, including an update on safeguarding efforts, the provision of dentistry services, and the progress of the Heart of Blyth project. The committee was also set to review its work programme and forward plan.

Communities and Place OSC - Wednesday, 17th December, 2025 2.00 pm

The Communities and Place Overview and Scrutiny Committee (OSC) was scheduled to meet to discuss the Infrastructure Funding Statement, and to consider their work programme for the coming year. Councillor David Lee Bawn was scheduled to chair the meeting, with Councillor Angie Scott as vice-chair.

Rights of Way Committee - Wednesday, 17th December, 2025 10.00 am

The Rights of Way Committee is scheduled to convene to discuss several key issues, including a request from Newton-by-the-Sea Parish Council regarding a Commons Scheme, and reviews of the definitive map and statement of public rights of way for routes in Wallington, Alnwick, Tosson and Rothbury. The committee will consider evidence and submissions related to these routes to determine whether modifications to the definitive map are warranted.

Licensing Hearing - Thursday, 11th December, 2025 2.00 pm

The Northumberland Council Licensing Hearing was scheduled to convene to address a single application for a premises licence. The hearing was also scheduled to include the election of a chair and disclosure of member's interests. Councillor Scott Amery, Councillor Trevor Cessford, Councillor Barry Elliott, and Councillor Alan Smith were scheduled to be in attendance.
