Audit, Governance and Standards Committee - Monday 8 September 2025 6.30 pm

The Audit, Governance and Standards Committee of Southwark Council met on 8 September 2025 to discuss a range of topics including fraud prevention, housing repairs and maintenance, and internal audit progress. The committee was also scheduled to hold a governance conversation with Aled Richards, Strategic Director for Environment, Sustainability & Leisure. In addition, they were expected to review their work programme for the year.

Licensing Committee - Monday 1 September 2025 6.00 pm

The Licensing Committee of Southwark Council met on 1 September 2025 to discuss several items, including a review of the Statement of Licensing Policy. The main focus of the meeting was to consider proposed changes to the existing policy and to agree on arrangements for public consultation. The committee was also scheduled to receive an update on recent appeals and prosecutions.

Licensing Sub-Committee - Tuesday 19 August 2025 10.00 am

The Licensing Sub-Committee of Southwark Council scheduled a meeting to consider a premises licence application for Londis East Dulwich. The application requested permission to sell alcohol and late night refreshment. Councillors were also expected to discuss representations made for and against the application.

Housing Scrutiny Commission - Monday 28 July 2025 7.00 pm

The Housing Scrutiny Commission met to discuss the findings of a review into major works projects on three estates, and to agree its work programme for the coming year. The commission heard about the outcome of internal and external reviews of major works on the Canada Estate, Fair Street and Kirby Estate, and considered a management response to the reviews. The commission also agreed its work programme for the 2025-26 municipal year.
