Environment Scrutiny Commission - Wednesday 30 April 2025 7.00 pm

The Environment Scrutiny Commission was scheduled to meet on Wednesday 30 April 2025 to discuss topics ranging from Thames Water's street works to Transport for London's (TfL) contributions to environmental health. The commission was also expected to review responses to draft supplementary planning documents (SPDs) and an environmental health scrutiny review report. Additionally, they were scheduled to discuss internal project management for highways and the commission's work programme.

The Council Assembly met to discuss the award of Freedoms of the Borough. The Council resolved to agree the recommendations for the award, although the names of the people or organisations to receive the honour were discussed in private and are not public knowledge. The meeting started at 9pm and finished at 10.30pm.

The Council Assembly of Southwark Council on Wednesday 19 March 2025 saw the passing of a motion on green and leisure spaces, a motion on the extension of the franchise, a motion to support the creation of a National Care Service for England, and the approval of several reports. The Assembly also received community evidence submissions, heard a deputation, and responded to public and members’ questions.

North East Multi-ward Forum Funding Decision Meetin, North East multi-ward forum - Wednesday 12 March 2025 7.00 pm

The North East multi-ward forum was scheduled to consider the allocation of funds to local projects through three separate schemes: the Cleaner Greener Safer programme, the Neighbourhoods Fund and the Devolved Highways programme. The meeting was also scheduled to receive an update on the underspend carried forward from the previous year's Cleaner Greener Safer programme, and consider whether it should be added to the current year's budget. The forum was scheduled to hear representations from local people and organisations as part of the decision-making process.

Environment Scrutiny Commission - Thursday 27 February 2025 7.00 pm

The agenda for this meeting included an interview with a Cabinet Member, presentations and discussions about encouraging community gardening, active travel, biodiversity corridors, provision of cycle parking and commissioning for behaviour change, a briefing and update on estate waste, a response to two draft Supplementary Planning Documents, and a discussion of the work programme.
