Annual Meeting, Council - Thursday, 22nd May, 2025 7.30 pm

The Council of Waltham Forest approved the minutes of the Ordinary Council meeting held on 24th April 2025. The Council also declared a Nature Emergency and resolved to convene residents and local partners to accelerate collective action, mainstream nature recovery considerations in Council decision making, and embed nature recovery as a strategic priority in planning and design guidelines for new developments. The Council further approved the updated Waltham Forest Local Development Scheme (LDS) 2025-2028. Finally, the Council re-appointed Cllr John Moss, Cllr Terry Wheeler, and Colette McCann as trustees for the Walthamstow & Chingford Almshouse Charity.

The Council of Waltham Forest Council on 22 May 2025 agreed to delegate non-executive functions to officers as set out in the Council's Constitution and the General Scheme of Delegation. They also agreed that officers with delegated powers can further delegate these powers and that the Director of Governance and Law will make the necessary changes to the Constitution and Scheme of Delegation.
