Agenda and decisions
The Committee noted a report on homelessness and health needs in Wandsworth, approved the recommissioning of extra care services at Chestnut House and Ensham House, and agreed that Wandsworth should continue to participate in the London sexual health and contraception e-service. The Committee also noted reports on health and care integration and complaints received by adult social care during 2023-24, and received an update on the quarter two budget monitoring for 2024-25.
Agenda and decisions
The committee voted to approve amendments to the Wandsworth Local Plan 2023-38 to increase the amount of affordable housing required in new developments, to proceed with the transformation of the Falcon Road railway bridge, and to begin consultation on a set of seven proposed quiet cycling routes. The committee also approved the Battersea Park Controlled Parking Zone Review and the proposed Local Implementation Plan.
Agenda
The meeting began with a recitation of the Quran by the Mayor's Faith Leader, Ali Jafri. The Council then approved an update to the council's capital spending plans, despite some abstentions from Conservative councillors. Two motions were then considered. The first, proposed by the Labour administration, was a general statement in support of children's safety and wellbeing and was passed despite opposition from the Conservative group. The second, proposed by the Conservatives, expressed concern at the loss of winter fuel payments for many pensioners and called on the Council to take steps to provide for those affected. This motion was defeated, with the Conservatives voting in favour and Labour against. The meeting concluded with the reception of reports from several committees.
Agenda
The meeting began with a discussion of the latest crime data for the borough and included a presentation about the Metropolitan Police Service's use of Live Facial Recognition (LFR). This was followed by an update on the various initiatives the council is undertaking in partnership with the police and other stakeholders to tackle crime and antisocial behaviour in Balham. The meeting finished with a question and answer session with the police and council officers. No decisions were made during the meeting.
