Living in Hackney Scrutiny Commission - Tuesday 23 September 2025 7.00 pm

The Living in Hackney Scrutiny Commission met to discuss the progress of the Eliminating Violence Against Women & Girls Strategy 2022-25, to note scrutiny reports, letters and responses, to review the scrutiny actions tracker, to review the Living in Hackney work programme for 2025/26 and to approve the minutes of the previous meeting. The Commission reviewed the progress made against delivering the priorities and actions outlined in the Eliminating Violence Against Women & Girls Strategy 2022-25 and agreed the work programme shortlist for the 2025/26 municipal year.

Council - Wednesday 17 September 2025 7.00 pm

The Hackney Council meeting on 17 September 2025 included discussion of climate change initiatives, scrutiny reports, and a motion regarding the two-child benefit cap, which was ultimately rejected. Councillors also approved the annual update on decarbonisation commitments, the Overview and Scrutiny annual report, the Standards Committee annual report, and noted decisions taken under special urgency provisions.

The Hackney Council meeting on 23 July 2025 addressed violence against women and girls, community consultation, youth justice, members' allowances, and various reports. Councillors approved the Youth Justice Strategic Partnership Plan 2025-28, the Members’ Allowances Scheme 2025-26, and a motion to work together against violence towards women and girls. They also noted the Strategic Plan Update Report 2024/25, the Audit Committee Annual Report 2024-25, and the Licensing Committee Annual Report 2023-2024 and 2024-2025.

Living in Hackney Scrutiny Commission - Wednesday 9 July 2025 7.00 pm

The Living in Hackney Scrutiny Commission met to discuss the new council homes programme, a refresh of the housing associations compact, and the upcoming work programme. Councillors examined progress towards the council's target of building 1,000 new social rent homes by 2026, and explored ways to improve collaboration with housing associations. They also reviewed letters and responses on previous scrutiny topics, and planned the commission's work for the coming year.

Audit Committee - Wednesday 18 June 2025 6.30 pm

The Hackney Council Audit Committee convened to discuss key financial and governance matters, including the external audit plan, financial updates, and risk management strategies. The committee reviewed and approved the minutes from the previous meeting, and also noted the terms of reference for the municipal year 2025/26. The committee also reviewed the proposed work programme for the coming year.
