Extraordinary Meeting, Council - Wednesday 7 January 2026 10.30 am

Wiltshire Council's extraordinary meeting on 7 January 2026 saw a significant debate on the proposed disposal of St Stephen's Multi-Storey Car Park in Trowbridge, which was ultimately defeated by a tied vote. Councillors also discussed and approved an extension to the council tax premium on long-term empty homes, but rejected a proposal to introduce a premium on second homes.

Western Area Planning Committee - Wednesday 17 December 2025 3.00 pm

The Western Area Planning Committee are scheduled to meet to discuss planning appeals and updates, and to consider planning applications relating to a dog exercise field in Hilperton, and a change of use of land and proposed annexe in Crockerton.

Wiltshire Police and Crime Panel - Tuesday 25 November 2025 10.30 am

The Wiltshire Police and Crime Panel met to discuss the future of the police and crime commissioner model, updates to the police and crime plan, the role of special constables, and retail crime. The panel also approved the minutes from the previous meeting held on 11 September 2025, and the minutes of the complaints sub-committee meeting held on 1 October 2025.

Melksham Area Board - Wednesday 12 November 2025 7.00 pm

The Melksham Area Board met to discuss community funding, highway improvements, and youth services in the area. Councillors approved funding for the Corsham Windband Association and Age UK Wiltshire, and also agreed to add a dropped kerb crossing in Bader Park, Bowerhill to the priority schemes list. A decision on funding for a pedestrian refuge island on Eastern Way, Melksham was deferred until the next meeting.

The Wiltshire Council was scheduled to meet to discuss a statutory recommendation from external auditors, Grant Thornton, regarding delays in the preparation of the council's financial accounts. The council was expected to consider the recommendation and approve a response.
