Licensing Committee - Monday, 14th July, 2025 6.20 pm

The Islington Council Licensing Committee convened on 14 July 2025, confirming the minutes of their previous meeting and amending the membership of Licensing Sub-Committee D. Councillor Nurullah Turan was appointed as the Vice-Chair of Licensing Sub-Committee D.

Council - Thursday, 10th July, 2025 7.15 pm

At a meeting of Islington Council, councillors discussed a range of issues including the impact of government cuts, the importance of social value in procurement, and support for private renters. Councillors voted to support motions on embedding social value and compliance in procurement, supporting private renters, and recognising the Communication Workers Union (CWU) and the local campaign to save the Upper Street Post Office. An original motion opposing cuts to Personal Independence Payment (PIP) was amended and then carried.

Licensing Sub Committee A - Wednesday, 9th July, 2025 7.00 pm

The Licensing Sub Committee A met to discuss a temporary event notice (TEN) application for Drip, located at 27 Clerkenwell Road. The committee decided to refuse the application and serve a counter notice, citing concerns about potential public nuisance due to prior noise complaints.

Planning Sub Committee B - Monday, 7th July, 2025 7.30 pm

Islington Council's Planning Sub-Committee B met on 7 July 2025, and approved a proposal to convert a disused ball court on the Delhi Outram Estate into a community garden and play area, despite the plans representing a departure from the council's local plan. The committee agreed to the plans subject to 11 conditions, including the securing of the final landscaping layout and inclusive design features.

Environment, Climate and Transport Scrutiny Committee - Tuesday, 1st July, 2025 7.30 pm

The Islington Environment, Climate and Transport Scrutiny Committee met to discuss the final report of the 2024-25 scrutiny review, and to select a new scrutiny topic for 2025-26, deciding to focus on waste reduction, recycling and the circular economy. The committee also agreed its work plan for the coming year.
