Pension Board - Wednesday, 9th July, 2025 2.30 pm
The Kensington and Chelsea Pension Board met to discuss pension administration, review fund policies, and consider investment performance. The board was also scheduled to discuss its business plan and direct property investments.
Family Services Select Committee - Thursday, 3rd July, 2025 6.30 pm
The Family Services Select Committee were scheduled to discuss the Bi-Borough Children and Young People's Plan, and to confirm their work programme for the coming year. The meeting was also scheduled to include a 72 seconds' silence to remember those who lost their lives in the Grenfell tragedy[^1].
Full Council - Wednesday, 25th June, 2025 6.30 pm
The Kensington and Chelsea Full Council met to discuss a range of issues, including community safety, the impact of national insurance contributions, and step-free access at South Kensington station. The council agreed to note reports on urgent decisions and community safety, and also agreed to request that the Lead Member for Finance investigate the implications of changes to National Insurance Contributions (NICs) and make a written submission to the government.
Licensing Sub-Committee - Thursday, 29th May, 2025 10.00 am
The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC)'s Licensing Sub-Committee met to consider an application from Kensington RG Limited for a new premises licence for The Roof Gardens at 99 Kensington High Street. The committee refused a request for an adjournment from the Kensington Square Residents Association (KSRA), and heard arguments for and against the application, before adjourning to make their decision in private. The decision will be communicated to all parties within five working days, with a full decision to follow.
Full Council - Wednesday, 21st May, 2025 6.30 pm
At the annual general meeting of Kensington and Chelsea Council, Councillor Tom Bennett was elected as Mayor for the coming year, with Councillor Arian Oretti appointed as Deputy Mayor. The council also conducted its annual review of committee representation and appointments, ensuring political balance across its various committees and outside organisations. Additionally, the council paid tribute to the outgoing Mayor, Councillor Will Lane, and Deputy Mayor, Councillor Laura Burns, for their service over the past year.
