Housing, Community Safety and Community Engagement Scrutiny Commission - Tuesday 22 April 2025 7.00 pm

This meeting of the Housing, Community Safety and Community Engagement Scrutiny Commission primarily focused on reviewing cabinet responses to previous recommendations and planning the commission's future work. The commission agreed to send an interim report on tenant structures to the cabinet. Members also discussed potential topics for the next municipal year, including tenant management organisations, repairs, heating and hot water outages, leaseholder charging, anti-social behaviour, rough sleeping, homelessness, void properties, and the new allocations policy.

Planning Committee (Major Applications) A - Wednesday 26 March 2025 6.30 pm

The Planning Committee (Major Applications) A was scheduled to discuss a release of funds for affordable housing and a major development project at the Borough Triangle site. The meeting was to be held at Ground Floor Meeting Room G02 - 160 Tooley Street, London SE1 2QH. The committee was also scheduled to approve the minutes from a prior meeting.

Ordinary meeting, Council Assembly - Wednesday 19 March 2025 7.00 pm

The Council Assembly of Southwark Council on Wednesday 19 March 2025 saw the passing of a motion on green and leisure spaces, a motion on the extension of the franchise, a motion to support the creation of a National Care Service for England, and the approval of several reports. The Assembly also received community evidence submissions, heard a deputation, and responded to public and members’ questions.

Extraordinary meeting, Council Assembly - Wednesday 19 March 2025 9.00 pm

The Council Assembly met to discuss the award of Freedoms of the Borough. The Council resolved to agree the recommendations for the award, although the names of the people or organisations to receive the honour were discussed in private and are not public knowledge. The meeting started at 9pm and finished at 10.30pm.

Decision-making meeting, South multi-ward forum - Wednesday 12 March 2025 7.00 pm

This meeting of the South multi-ward forum was scheduled to include a discussion of applications for funding from the council's Cleaner Greener Safer, Neighbourhoods Fund and Devolved Highways schemes, as well as approval of the previous meeting's minutes. It also included a report about underspends from the previous year, and how they were to be reallocated.
