Council - Wednesday, 18th March, 2026 7.00 pm

The Council meeting on 18 March 2026 was a lengthy affair, marked by extensive debate and the eventual approval of significant changes to the Council's Constitution. Key decisions included the adoption of new procedures for public and member questions, a revised call-in process for scrutiny, and changes to the Tenants Oversight and Influence Panel. The meeting also saw the approval of the Pay Policy Statement for 2026/2027 and the Members' Allowances Scheme for the same year, which included the removal of the Minority Party Allocation. Three motions were also passed: one calling for modernised national gambling legislation, another pledging opposition to detrimental changes to the Freedom Pass scheme, and a final motion concerning bus timetable changes.
