Carbon Budget Process Update

This report provides an update to the Sustainability Committee on suggested changes to the Carbon Budget process for 2025-26. The Committee is asked to consider the limited efficiencies and effectiveness of providing targets for each Directorate in the Carbon Budget process and seeks support to remove these targets for a more One Aberdeenshire approach to climate change mitigation.

Contrary to Policy R2 Development Proposals Elsewhere in the Countryside of the ALDP 2023 and Policy 17 Rural Homes of NPF4,as the proposal does not meet the requirements for a dwellinghouse for an essential worker and it fails to demonstrate compliance with Policy 7 Historic assets and places of NPF4 and Policy HE1 Protecting Listed Buildings, Scheduled Monuments of the ALDP 2023.

Passenger Transport Policies 2025

The report seeks comments on draft updated passenger transport policies to take effect from 2025. These include policies on public transport, home-to-school transport and adult social work transport. Area Committee comments will be shared with the Infrastructure Services Committee, Education & Children Services Committee and/or Integration Joint Board for their consideration when they are asked to approve the policies.
