...the Cabinet noted recent developments in local government reorganisation and devolution, the work undertaken to prepare the final submission document, recommended to Full Council that a unitary council for Newcastle-under-Lyme be the preferred option, supported co-developing a devolution growth framework for Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent, endorsed the submission document's focus on devolution, supported the proposed Strategic Authority geography, reiterated its belief in the current two-tier system, emphasized the need for high service standards, requested full government funding for reorganisation, requested MPs' support, and authorized the Leader to update the final submission.
