Children and Young People Scrutiny Commission - Wednesday 11 September 2024 7.00 pm

The Children and Young People's Scrutiny Commission met to discuss two key topics; a new approach to the Safer Schools Partnership and proposals to improve housing support for care leavers. The Commission made a number of recommendations to the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) in relation to the role of Safer School Officers in Hackney schools. The Commission noted the update report on housing support for care leavers and agreed to submit any outstanding questions to officers for a written response.

Corporate Committee - Tuesday 10 September 2024 6.30 pm

This meeting was scheduled to cover a wide range of topics, including the Hackney Council Pay Policy for its Chief Officers, a report on Shop Front Trading across the borough, and the Council’s Corporate Transformation Strategy.

Planning Sub-Committee - Wednesday 4 September 2024 6.30 pm

The Planning Sub-Committee approved two applications: the demolition of a mechanics garage and the erection of a two storey dwelling house at Land to the rear of 64 Middleton Road, and the reprovision of a playing pitch with associated infrastructure and landscaping works at Land adjacent Woodberry Down Early Years Centre Springpark Drive.

Planning Sub-Committee - Wednesday 31 July 2024 6.30 pm

The meeting was scheduled to include discussions on a range of planning applications, covering proposals to build new housing and reprovide a playing pitch at Woodberry Down, as well as a new roof extension at Atrium Apartments on Felton Street. There was also scheduled discussion of a notification about the Bishopsgate Goods Yard development, which is situated mostly in the neighbouring borough of Tower Hamlets.

Extraordinary, Corporate Committee - Tuesday 30 July 2024 6.00 pm

This meeting of Hackney Council's Corporate Committee was an extraordinary meeting called to confirm the make up of the council's Planning Sub-Committee. The Planning Sub-Committee is responsible for making decisions on planning applications and other planning matters. A report pack prepared for the meeting explains that the Planning Sub-Committee's membership had previously been agreed at the council's Annual Meeting, but a number of revisions to membership were required . The report asked the Corporate Committee to note the revised membership.
