Public Spaces Protection Order, Executive Decision - Monday, 22nd July, 2024 3.00 pm
This meeting was an Executive Decision with no public access, on the topic of a proposed borough-wide Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO)[^1] to tackle nuisance from car meets. It was scheduled to be led by Councillor Khevyn Limbajee, the Portfolio Lead Member for Community Safety. Attendees were provided with a report pack [^2] that recommends making a borough-wide PSPO to tackle nuisance from car meets, and included a summary of the consultation on the proposed order.
Council - Thursday, 18th July, 2024 7.30 pm
The Council voted to welcome the new Labour government and to write to the Prime Minister to offer their congratulations. Councillors also voted to adopt a new Civility in Public Life action plan, and to approve the transfer of planning powers back to the Council from the LLDC.
Audit and Governance Committee - Wednesday, 17th July, 2024 7.00 pm
The Audit and Governance Committee was scheduled to consider a range of issues relating to the financial management of the council, and the risks the council faces. This included scrutiny of the Draft Statement of Accounts 2023/24, which provides a snapshot of the council's financial position, and a Risk Management Update which was prepared to provide the committee with the council's strategic risk register for review. The committee was also scheduled to be provided with reports on the work undertaken by the council's Corporate Anti-Fraud Team in 2023/24, the activities of the council's Internal Audit Team and the Council's Treasury Management activities in 2023/24.
Forest Road Improvement Scheme, Executive Decision - Wednesday, 10th July, 2024 9.30 am
Waltham Forest Council's Executive Decision committee approved the first stage of the Forest Road Improvement Scheme. This decision allows the council to begin detailed design and consultation on the scheme.
ICT - Provision of Microsoft Enterprise Licencing and subscription (SaaS), Executive Decision - Tuesday, 9th July, 2024 11.00 am
Waltham Forest Council has agreed to extend its Enterprise Agreement with Microsoft for software licences for a further three years. This decision was taken without being put out to tender because the council believes that this would have cost more money and that it would be difficult to switch provider.
