The meeting reviewed the Hackney Education department’s proposals for a second round of school closures and mergers in the borough, following on from 4 Hackney primary school closures in August 2024. No decision was made at the meeting, which was to hear evidence and inform any recommendations made by the Commission to the Cabinet.

This meeting of the Corporate Committee was scheduled to include a presentation of data on the gender and ethnicity pay gap in Hackney Council, as well as the proposed fees and charges for markets, street trading and shop fronts for 2025/26. The committee was also scheduled to consider the minutes of its previous meeting.

Constitution Committee - Tuesday 29 October 2024 5.30 pm

The meeting on 29 October 2024 was scheduled to discuss the Committee’s Terms of Reference, receive an update on the implementation of the new Hackney Council constitution and consider its work programme for the remainder of the municipal year.

Council - Wednesday 18 September 2024 7.00 pm

This meeting of Hackney Council was scheduled to include the results of recent by-elections, public questions to the Cabinet, the annual update on the Climate Action Plan, the adoption of a policy on Disclosure and Barring Service Checks for elected members, the annual report of the Overview and Scrutiny Panel, appointments to Outside Bodies and the consideration of six motions.
