Children's and Culture Scrutiny Committee - Friday, 17th October, 2025 10.00 am

The Children's and Culture Scrutiny Committee met to discuss several key issues, including updates to the Young Carers Scrutiny Review Action Plan, the Childcare Sufficiency in Lincolnshire, and the Children's Services Annual Statutory Complaints Report. The committee agreed to receive a second monitoring update on the Young Carers Scrutiny Review Action Plan in April 2026, and were assured on the Childcare Sufficiency Assessment for 2025 and the performance of children's services in relation to the annual statutory complaints report. The Health Scrutiny Committee for Lincolnshire met to discuss several key healthcare issues, including the future of dementia services in Grantham, an overview of maternity and neonatal services across the county, and the progress of neighbourhood health initiatives. The committee supported the permanent closure of the Manthorpe Ward in Grantham, favouring the continuation of the Dementia Home Treatment Team. Members also reviewed updates from the North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust and discussed the committee's future work programme.
