Annual Council - Thursday, 15th May, 2025 7.15 pm

At the Annual Council meeting, Councillor Jason Jackson was elected as Mayor of Islington, becoming the first black man to hold the post. Councillor Rosalyn Ngongoro was appointed as Deputy Mayor, and councillors were assigned to various committees and outside organisations. The council also formally appointed Paul Clarke as Interim Section 151 Officer[^1].

Homes and Communities Scrutiny Committee - Monday, 12th May, 2025 7.30 pm

The Homes and Communities Scrutiny Committee met to discuss the final report and recommendations for Islington Community Centres, receive an update from the Homes and Estates Safety Board, review the Housing Performance Annual Report, and hear the Executive Member's annual report on Islington libraries. The committee also discussed the draft work programme for 2025/26 and potential scrutiny topics.

Corporate Resources and Economy Scrutiny Committee - Thursday, 1st May, 2025 7.30 pm

The Corporate Resources and Economy Scrutiny Committee met to discuss the annual review of the council's five missions, the scrutiny in Islington annual report, and the draft recommendations of a scrutiny review into progressive procurement. The committee agreed in principle the draft recommendations of the scrutiny review into progressive procurement, and will circulate a perfected draft for final comment. They also discussed the Q4 performance deep dive, and agreed to focus on areas where the RAG rating[^1] was amber or red.

Employment and Appointments Committee - Thursday, 17th April, 2025 9.00 am

The Employment and Appointments Committee convened to appoint a Director of Education and Achievement, recommend two candidates as Independent Persons for Standards to the council, and delegate authority to the Chair to recommend candidates for Co-Opted Members of the Audit and Risk Committee.

Homes and Communities Scrutiny Committee - Monday, 7th April, 2025 7.30 pm

The Homes and Communities Scrutiny Committee met to discuss property licensing, review the third quarter housing performance, consider draft recommendations for community centres, and review the Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) annual report. The committee noted the actions taken to publicise the property licensing consultation and considered the property licensing proposals. The committee also reviewed and noted the draft recommendations for community centres and the VCS annual report.
