Drug and Alcohol Treatment and Recovery Grant (DATRIG): final funding allocations - update

From: Adults Social Care and Public Health Committee - Tuesday, 10th June 2025 6.00 p.m. - June 10, 2025

Wirral Council has received confirmation that the provisional Drug and Alcohol Treatment, Recovery and Improvement Grant (DATRIG) funding has now been formally approved by the DHSC, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), and His Majesty’s Treasury. This report updates the Adult Social Care and Public Health Committee on the final grant allocations and seeks authority for further contractual arrangements from 1st July 2025. The grant funded Cheshire and Merseyside In-patient Detox Consortium: new competitive procurement exercise

From: Adults Social Care and Public Health Committee - Tuesday, 10th June 2025 6.00 p.m. - June 10, 2025

This has been a very successful project with a national profile, however following the introduction of the NHS Provider Selection Regime (PSR) and a subsequent evaluation of the existing commissioning arrangements by Wirral Council Procurement and Legal colleagues, it is now recommended that a competitive procurement exercise to establish a new framework be completed to move Inpatient Detox (IPD) service providers onto a more robust commissioning regime. IPD services are commissioned by Wirral on behalf of the 9 Cheshire and Merseyside boroughs.
