Health and Adult Social Care Scrutiny - Wednesday, 3rd December, 2025 7.00 pm
The Health and Adult Social Care Scrutiny were scheduled to meet to discuss the Safeguarding Adults Board Strategic Plan for 2025-28, and to receive an update from Whipps Cross Hospital (Barts Health NHS Trust) on the findings of a Care Quality Commission (CQC) report. Councillors were also expected to review the committee's forward plan, action tracker and recommendations tracker.

The Waltham Forest Council Cabinet met to discuss and approve a range of strategic and financial matters, including the Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Strategy, the Avenue Road Estate regeneration project, and the continuation of the Council Tax Support scheme. A report was prepared for Councillor Clyde Loakes, Deputy Leader (Climate and Air Quality), regarding making permanent an Experimental Traffic Management Order (ETMO) relating to the scheme. The Waltham Forest Council cabinet approved a new strategy to address the increasing demand for temporary accommodation in the borough, as well as a new agreement to provide integrated mental health services. Councillor Grace Williams, Leader of the Council, thanked Councillor Ahsan Khan, Deputy Leader (Housing and Regeneration) and Councillor Louise Mitchell, Portfolio Lead Member - Adults and Health, for their leadership on these issues.
