Children and Young People Scrutiny Commission - Wednesday 11 September 2024 7.00 pm

The Children and Young People's Scrutiny Commission met to discuss two key topics; a new approach to the Safer Schools Partnership and proposals to improve housing support for care leavers. The Commission made a number of recommendations to the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) in relation to the role of Safer School Officers in Hackney schools. The Commission noted the update report on housing support for care leavers and agreed to submit any outstanding questions to officers for a written response.

The Pensions Committee was scheduled to consider a number of reports that provided updates on the financial and administrative performance of the Hackney Pension Fund[^1], as well as on the progress of various projects and initiatives.

Scrutiny Panel - Monday 15 July 2024 7.00 pm

The Scrutiny Panel met to review the Council’s budget and spending priorities for 2024/25. In a challenging financial context, the Panel received presentations from each of the directorate heads who set out the key areas of expenditure, cost pressures, and savings delivery proposals. The Panel also received a brief verbal update from the Mayor of Hackney, Mayor Caroline Woodley.
