Chief Officer Appointment - Director of Communications, Staffing Committee - Thursday, 12th September, 2024 1.00 pm

The Staffing Committee interviewed candidates for the vacant Corporate Director of Communications & Campaigns role and agreed to offer the position to Adrian Thomas, subject to the appropriate checks.

Children and Families Scrutiny Committee - Wednesday, 11th September, 2024 7.00 pm

The Children and Families Scrutiny Committee meeting on 11 September 2024 received a range of reports on topics including the recent Ofsted inspection of children’s services, school attendance, exclusions and the educational achievements of children in care. The committee was also asked to consider its work programme for the remainder of the year.

Chief Officer Appointment - Director of Return on Investment (ROI), Staffing Committee - Wednesday, 11th September, 2024 3.00 pm

The Staffing Committee met to interview candidates for the vacant Director of Return on Investment (ROI) role and ultimately decided to offer the position to Mark Brickell, pending the appropriate checks.

Council - Thursday, 18th July, 2024 7.30 pm

The Council voted to welcome the new Labour government and to write to the Prime Minister to offer their congratulations. Councillors also voted to adopt a new Civility in Public Life action plan, and to approve the transfer of planning powers back to the Council from the LLDC.

Audit and Governance Committee - Wednesday, 17th July, 2024 7.00 pm

The Audit and Governance Committee was scheduled to consider a range of issues relating to the financial management of the council, and the risks the council faces. This included scrutiny of the Draft Statement of Accounts 2023/24, which provides a snapshot of the council's financial position, and a Risk Management Update which was prepared to provide the committee with the council's strategic risk register for review. The committee was also scheduled to be provided with reports on the work undertaken by the council's Corporate Anti-Fraud Team in 2023/24, the activities of the council's Internal Audit Team and the Council's Treasury Management activities in 2023/24.
