Charter Trustees for the City of Durham - Wednesday 22 October 2025 11.30 am
The Charter Trustees for the City of Durham were scheduled to meet on Wednesday 22 October 2025 to discuss an amendment to standing orders and a forecast of revenue outturn for 2025/26. The meeting was also scheduled to confirm the minutes of meetings held on 11 June, 30 June and 16 July 2025.

The County Planning Committee met to discuss two planning applications. Councillors approved the application for 137 homes in Wheatley Hill, and approved the application for 79 homes in Pelton.
Cabinet - Wednesday 15 October 2025 9.30 am
The Durham County Council Cabinet met to discuss a range of issues, including the approval of a new council plan, public health initiatives, support for children in care, and strategies for revitalising high streets. Councillors agreed to publish the Director of Public Health Annual Report 2025, and approved the new Durham Family Strategy 2025-2029, renaming the Corporate Parenting Panel to the Durham Family Panel. Additionally, the cabinet agreed to consult on designating areas in Bishop Auckland and Stanley for High Street Rental Auctions.

This was a special joint meeting of the Economy and Enterprise Overview and Scrutiny Committee and the Environment and Sustainable Communities Overview and Scrutiny Committee. The main item for discussion was a report and presentation on fuel poverty in County Durham. Councillors were expected to comment on the report and presentation, and to consider receiving a further update on fuel poverty at a future meeting.
Highways Committee - Monday 13 October 2025 9.30 am
The Highways Committee of Durham County Council met on 13 October 2025 to discuss proposed changes to traffic regulation orders in several locations. The meeting was scheduled to address objections received during consultations on amendments to parking and waiting restrictions in Kyo, Annfield Plain, Greencroft, Catchgate, Harelaw, and Dipton, as well as in Bishop Auckland. Councillors were asked to decide, in principle, whether the Traffic Regulation Orders should be made.
