The Children and Young People Scrutiny Commission of Hackney Council was scheduled to consider the outcomes of an Ofsted Area SEND Inspection and engage in a question and answer session with Cabinet members on various policy areas. The Hackney Council meeting on Wednesday, 4 March 2026, saw the approval of the 2026/27 budget and Council Tax rates, with a 4.99% increase for Hackney residents. The committee approved the recommendations within the External Audit Completion Report, which included authorising the Group Director of Finance and Corporate Resources to approve the final Statement of Accounts for 2024/25, pending the completion of outstanding work by the external auditor.
