Opportunity to Host a Major Event in Leeds

Customer Transformation Programme

Following the report to the Executive Board on 11th December 2024, which provided an overview of the Customer Strategy and outlined the estimated timelines for its implementation, a commitment was made to present an Invest to Save Business Case to the Executive Board in Spring 2025.   This decision seeks the Executive Boards approval to proceed with the delivery of a 3.5-year Customer Transformation programme. This programme requires authority to spend £12m, funded from Capital Receipts. The Customer Transformation programme will streamline council processes and leverage digital technologies to enhance customer experience, improve satisfaction and deliver significant cost savings through increased automation. Investment in this program will leave a sustainable, legacy service that will support the provision and further development of our customer experience offer that will continue to benefit our communities for many years to come.

Council Housing Growth Programme Update and Phase 2 Proposals

Receipt of Grant funding linked to Get Britain Working Regional Funding

The Get Britain Working White Paper details a locally led approach to supporting people with health conditions gain meaningful employment and prevent people from falling out of work.  It includes details on funding streams which will be awarded to the West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) and West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA).    A proportion of this funding will be used to fund the five West Yorkshire Local Authorities to deliver or commission locally led provision.   Executive Board is asked to:   A) Delegate authority to Director of City Development to enter into an agreement with WYCA to accept funding linked to delivery of the Work and Health  plan in Leeds for activity from 1st April 2025 (subject to CA approval.)   B) Endorse the proposed approach to spend of the funding as detailed in the report.   C) Delegate authority to Director of City Development to accept any other funding from WYCA associated with the Work and Health Agenda, and to progress any associated programme design/implementation including spend.   D) Note that the Head of Employment and Skills will be responsible for the implementation and delivery of the programme from April 2025 to March 2026.
