The Local Review Body met on Monday 15 June 2026 to consider several planning appeals. The committee upheld the appointed officer's decision to refuse an application for a dwellinghouse on land east of Roundel Station Road, Gordon, citing adverse impacts on landscape character and the loss of prime agricultural land. They also upheld the officer's decision to refuse an application for a dwellinghouse west of Nenthorn House, Nenthorn, due to concerns about its relationship to the existing building group and its adverse effect on the designed landscape. In a third case, the committee upheld the officer's refusal for alterations and extensions to Elmsfield, Broughton, due to design concerns and potential for creating a separate residential unit. However, the committee overturned the officer's decision regarding a barn conversion west of Oakwood House, Allanton, approving it subject to conditions. Finally, the committee upheld the officer's decision to refuse an application for a replacement dwellinghouse at Slitrig Cottage, Langburnshiels, Hawick, due to design and ecological concerns.

The Local Review Body considered three planning appeals, ultimately upholding the council's refusal for an agricultural storage shed with a games room near Grantshouse, but overturning refusals for a dwellinghouse at Hassendean Station and for two new dwellings at Hume. The Body also decided to uphold the council's refusal for a boundary fence at Thorniedean House in Galashiels.
