Budget Meeting, Council - Thursday, 27th February, 2025 7.15 pm
Islington Council agreed a balanced budget for 2025/26, set the level of council tax, and discussed the provision of public toilets in the borough.
Audit and Risk Committee - Tuesday, 18th February, 2025 7.30 pm, NEW
The Committee approved the council's statement of accounts for 2023-24, as well as the Pension Fund accounts, and were satisfied with the Auditor's Annual Report and Value for Money conclusions. The Committee noted the decision to end the shared Internal Audit service with Camden, and discussed the future work plan for the Committee.
Corporate Resources and Economy Scrutiny Committee - Thursday, 30th January, 2025 7.30 pm
At this meeting, Islington Council's proposed budget for 2025-26 was scrutinised. This was the third budget presentation by Councillor Diarmaid Ward, the Executive Member for Finance and Performance. The Committee also heard Councillor Ward's annual report on the Resources and Finance directorate and considered a report on the corporate performance of the Community Wealth Building directorate.

The Corporate Resources and Economy Scrutiny Committee met with representatives from Thames Water to discuss a range of issues relating to the company's operations in the borough. The committee heard details of the company's plans to improve water quality and reduce leakage, as well as its contingency measures for service interruptions. The committee also questioned the company's customer service record and its plans to increase customer bills. The committee asked Thames Water to return in 12 months' time to update it on the company's progress.
