Extraordinary Meeting - Local Government Reorganisation, County Council - Wednesday, 19 November 2025 10.30 am
The Hertfordshire County Council convened an extraordinary meeting on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, at County Hall in Hertford. The primary focus of the meeting was to consider the Local Government Reorganisation Business Case. The meeting also provided an opportunity for public questions and petitions related to the business at hand.
Highways Cabinet Panel - Friday, 14 November 2025 10.00 am
The Highways Cabinet Panel met to discuss responses to motions regarding utility works and the highways locality budget, as well as updates on pothole repair trials and general highway maintenance. Councillor Stephen Giles-Medhurst OBE, Executive Member for Highways, was scheduled to provide updates on various highway maintenance activities. The panel was also expected to discuss public petitions and the minutes from their previous meeting.
Environment, Transport & Growth Cabinet Panel - Wednesday, 5 November 2025 10.00 am
The Environment, Transport and Growth Cabinet Panel met to discuss a range of issues, including cycling and walking infrastructure, bus service improvements, local transport planning, and sustainability initiatives. The panel endorsed the Three Rivers Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan, noted the progress of the Interlink Enhanced Partnership review, endorsed the timetable and draft vision for the new Local Transport Plan, and noted the Sustainability Progress Report. The Development Control Committee of Hertfordshire County Council met on Friday 24 October 2025 and voted to approve an application to change the use of a property on Melbourne Road, Royston from a residential dwelling (Class C3) to a care home (Class C2). The committee heard arguments for and against the proposal, and ultimately voted in favour of granting planning permission, subject to four conditions.

The Hertfordshire County Council met to discuss a range of issues, including the appointment of a chair to the Overview and Scrutiny Committee, political proportionality on committees, and a petition regarding the Hertfordshire Local Government Pension Scheme.
