Licensing Sub-Committee - Monday 16th June, 2025 10.30 am

The Licensing Sub-Committee of Barnet Council met to discuss an application for a new Adult Gaming Centre Licence for Palace Amusements at 4-6 North End Road, Golders Green. Despite objections from local residents, the sub-committee granted the licence, subject to mandatory conditions and additional conditions agreed with the police.

Strategic Planning Committee - Tuesday 10th June, 2025 7.00 pm

The Strategic Planning Committee met to discuss the redevelopment of the Lodge Lane Car Park in North Finchley. Councillors voted to approve the planning permission for the site, despite concerns raised about the lack of affordable housing, the impact on heritage, and daylight and sunlight for nearby residents. The committee also elected Councillor Richard Barnes as the vice chair.

Planning Committee - Monday 9th June, 2025 7.00 pm

The Planning Committee convened to discuss several planning applications, including retrospective applications and new developments. Councillor Richard Barnes declared an interest in item 11, 11 Prospect Road, and did not vote on the item. The committee approved applications for Alexandra Road, Temple Fortune Parade and Renters Avenue, and refused applications for Marsh Lane and Llanvanor Road.

Licensing Sub-Committee - Thursday 29th May, 2025 10.30 am

The Licensing Sub-Committee met to consider an application from Power Leisure Bookmakers Limited, trading as Paddy Power, for a variation to their betting premises licence at 76 Ballards Lane in Finchley. The application was for approval of alterations to the layout of the premises. After hearing from the applicant and considering written representations from local residents, the Sub-Committee resolved to grant the application with mandatory conditions.
