Overview and Scrutiny Management Committee - Tuesday 3 June 2025 10.30 am

The Overview and Scrutiny Management Committee of Wiltshire Council met to elect a chair and vice-chair, and to discuss the Overview and Scrutiny work programme. Councillors were also scheduled to discuss temporary agency staffing procurement and overview and scrutiny member remuneration.

Council - Tuesday 20 May 2025 10.30 am

The annual meeting of Wiltshire Council saw Councillor Laura Mayes elected as the new chairman, and Councillor Ruth Hopkinson elected as vice-chairman. Councillor Ian Thorne was appointed leader of the council for 2025-2029, and he announced his cabinet. Councillors also voted to delegate decisions on committee appointments to a later meeting, and to authorise work to establish a new financial scrutiny committee.

Extraordinary - On the rising of Full Council, not before 11am, Corsham Area Board - Tuesday 20 May 2025 11.00 am

The Corsham Area Board met on Tuesday 20 May 2025 and elected Councillor Ruth Hopkinson, Corsham Ladbrook as Chairman, Councillor Helen Belcher OBE, Cabinet Member for Economic Development, Regeneration and Assets as Vice-Chairman, and also appointed Councillor Ruth Hopkinson as the lead member for the Local Highways and Footpath Improvement Group (LHFIG).

Standards Committee - Wednesday 9 April 2025 1.00 pm

The Standards Committee of Wiltshire Council scheduled a meeting to discuss code of conduct complaints, motions referred from Full Council, and Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks for elected members. The agenda included a review of the current position on code of conduct complaints, consideration of two motions regarding council procedure, and an update on the council’s DBS policy for elected members.

Application for a Premises Licence - 8 Market Place, Box, Corsham, Northern Area Licensing Sub Committee - Tuesday 8 April 2025 10.30 am

The Northern Area Licensing Sub Committee met to consider a licensing application and discuss procedure for the meeting. The main item for discussion was the application for a premises licence for 8 Market Place, Box from Box Catering Ltd. Two relevant representations from local residents were received in relation to this application.
