APP/2023/2017 - Full Planning Permission for Repair of Boundary Walls and Fences and Formation of Hardstanding and Stone Drain Soakaway (Part Retrospective) at Braemar Lodge Hotel, 6 Glenshee Road, Braemar

From: Marr Area Committee - Tuesday, 5th November, 2024 10.00 am - November 05, 2024

This application was considered at the Marr Area Committee on the 20th August but was deferred to allow the committee to undertake a site visit. The site visit was carried out on the 27th August and further information was provided to clarify the ground levels on site. The proposal seeks full planning permission for repair of walls and fences, forming hardstanding and installing a drain at the site of the former Braemar Lodge Hotel, which was demolished following a fire in March 2022. There have been representations from the public objecting to the proposal due to the building being demolished without permission, concerns over contaminated land and concerns over drainage on site. Contaminated land and Sepa are satisfied that there is no evidence of contamination and drainage proposal has been altered to with Flood risk and coastal protection confirming that it is acceptable.
