Cabinet decided to re-procure the Waste and Recycling Kerbside Collection Contract on 20 May 2026. They approved adding the purchase of vehicles to the capital programme with a budget of £13.5m, agreed a contract length of eight years with an optional eight-year extension, and maintained the separate collection of glass. They also agreed to incorporate a mechanism for green waste collection information and restructure the bulky waste collection service charging model.

The decision was made on 20/05/2026. The new bins will be 180L and brown, with existing blue 240L bins used for fibre collection.
