Cabinet Procurement and Insourcing Committee - Monday 7 April 2025 2.00 pm
The Cabinet Procurement and Insourcing Committee (CPIC) met on 7 April 2025, to discuss contract variations, the creation of a Dynamic Purchasing System, a business case for scaffolding and roofing, and transformation consultancy support. Councillor Robert Chapman, Cabinet Member for Finance, Insourcing and Customer Service, chaired the meeting. The committee approved a contract variation for the City and Hackney Integrated Substance Misuse Service, approved the appointment of providers to the Emergency Accommodation Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS), approved the procurement of roofing and scaffolding services, and approved the award of a contract for consultancy services for Phase One to accelerate work on prevention and demand management.
Skills, Economy and Growth Scrutiny Commission - Monday 7 April 2025 7.00 pm
The Skills, Economy and Growth Scrutiny Commission met to discuss Hackney's transport strategy for 2026-2036, including public consultation plans, and to review the commission's work programme. Councillors discussed ways to achieve the Mayor of London's net zero targets, the decline in bus ridership, and the management of dockless bikes. The minutes of the previous meeting were approved with an amendment to reflect Councillor Jasmine Martins' attendance in person.

The Hackney Council Cabinet met to discuss a range of issues, including tree vandalism, support for young people, property disposals, the council's financial position, household support funding, and updates to the local development scheme. The cabinet approved the sale of three properties on Ashwin Street, despite concerns from the public about the impact on the Dalston Eastern Curve Garden and affordable workspace for artists. They also received a presentation from the Hackney Youth Parliament and approved a new housing policy to support residents with additional needs.
Extraordinary Meeting, Cabinet Procurement and Insourcing Committee - Monday 24 March 2025 4.30 pm
The Cabinet Procurement and Insourcing Committee approved a variation to the Leisure Management Contract with Greenwich Leisure Limited (GLL) that allows GLL to run leisure centres as an agent of the council, extends the contract by five years to 31 March 2034, and includes updates to maintenance classifications and the formal inclusion of Clissold Park Splash Pad in the contract. The committee delegated authority to the Group Director - Climate, Homes & Economy, in consultation with other directors, to finalise the legal documentation.
