Pensions Committee - Monday, 10th March, 2025 7.00 pm
This meeting was about the Islington Pension Fund, how it is performing and how it should be invested. The meeting considered whether the Fund should change its investments to reduce their impact on climate change and to better reflect the council's goal of building a more inclusive economy in the borough.
Budget Meeting, Council - Thursday, 27th February, 2025 7.15 pm
Islington Council agreed a balanced budget for 2025/26, set the level of council tax, and discussed the provision of public toilets in the borough.
Council - Thursday, 12th December, 2024 7.15 pm
At the meeting on 12 December, the council made a number of decisions. The council approved the adoption of a new Council Tax Support Scheme. Councillors voted to note the annual Armed Forces Covenant Annual Report. Councillors noted the political balance of the council, following the results of a by-election and the recent formation of the Independent and Green Group. Councillors voted to adopt an updated constitution, and approved a series of new committee appointments. Finally, councillors discussed and then voted to adopt two motions: one on giving refugees time to resettle, and a second on winter fuel allowance.

This meeting of the Pensions Committee was scheduled to receive updates on the performance of the Islington Pension Fund and the London Collective Investment Vehicle (CIV), as well as to discuss an interim funding review, progress on the implementation of the Investment Strategy and the restructuring of the passive equity portfolio.
Environment, Climate and Transport Scrutiny Committee - Tuesday, 3rd December, 2024 7.30 pm
The Committee heard presentations from community groups and council officers about the Council's efforts to tackle climate change, with a particular focus on reducing e-waste, improving recycling rates and creating nature neighbourhoods.
