This meeting of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee was scheduled to receive reports from the Metropolitan Police and about the financial status of the council. It was also scheduled to receive updates from its scrutiny panels and the Joint Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee, and to review the council's Forward Plan and Work Programme.

This meeting was about whether the committee should approve the draft Statement of Licensing Policy (SoLP) for public consultation. There were no decisions made during the meeting. The report pack for the meeting contains information about why the policy needs to be reviewed, and how it has changed, and includes a copy of the draft policy itself.

Borough Council

The meeting included four petitions on a variety of matters, discussion of the ‘state of the borough’ report, the appointment of a new Monitoring Officer and four proposed motions for debate by members. In addition the council considered reports on treasury management, the adoption of a new gambling policy, and constitutional matters. Lastly, five written questions to cabinet members were answered.
