Housing and Inclusive Economy Scrutiny Committee - Wednesday, 2nd July, 2025 7.00 pm

The Housing and Inclusive Economy Scrutiny Committee were scheduled to meet to discuss the Waltham Forest Housing Compact, social housing regulation, and internal analysis of Housing Ombudsman severe maladministration determinations. The Children and Families Scrutiny Committee was scheduled to meet on 1 July 2025 to discuss the findings of a recent inspection regarding special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) arrangements in Waltham Forest, and to review the committee's forward plan for the coming year. The committee was also scheduled to review action trackers from previous meetings.

Appointments Panel - Strategic Director of Place, Staffing Committee - Monday, 16th June, 2025 2.00 pm

The Staffing Committee of Waltham Forest Council met on 16 June 2025 to interview candidates for the position of Strategic Director of Place. The committee was scheduled to discuss the candidates and make an appointment to the role. The Strategic Director of Place is responsible for all functions in the Place Directorate including Housing, Regeneration and Planning, Property, Commercial Estate and Investment and Capital Delivery.

Annual Meeting, Council - Thursday, 22nd May, 2025 7.30 pm

The Waltham Forest Council meeting scheduled for 22 May 2025 included the election of a new Mayor, the appointment of councillors to various committees and outside bodies, and a review of the council's scheme of delegation. Councillors were also scheduled to discuss the programme of meetings for the upcoming year.

Council - Thursday, 24th April, 2025 7.30 pm

At a meeting of the Waltham Forest Council, councillors approved an updated Local Development Scheme and declared a Nature Emergency in the borough. The council also paid tribute to former Councillor Mohammad Asghar, father of Councillor Naheed Asghar, Portfolio Lead Member - Inclusive Economy, who had recently passed away.
