The council met to discuss and vote on a recommendation to be put to the cabinet regarding local government reorganisation, and ultimately voted to support a single unitary council for the whole Derby and Derbyshire area. The council also agreed to delegate authority to the Interim Chief Executive, Simon Stevens, in discussion with Councillor Alan Graves, Leader of the Council and Cabinet Member for Strategic Leadership, to make any amendments and additions to the submission document following feedback from the full council.

Audit Committee - Tuesday, 16 September 2025 2.00 pm

The Derbyshire County Council Audit Committee met on 16 September 2025 to discuss corporate risk management, the strategic risk register, the effectiveness of internal controls, and the Derbyshire Pension Fund audit. The committee reviewed the strategic risk register, identifying risks needing further assurance, and noted the plan for Executive Director attendance at future meetings. The committee also reviewed and approved the updated Whistleblowing Policy.

The Audit Committee of Derbyshire County Council was scheduled to convene on 15 July 2025, to discuss a range of topics including performance monitoring, governance, audit reports, and counter-fraud strategies. The meeting was also scheduled to include a review of the council's financial performance and risk management.
