The Audit and Governance Committee of West Northamptonshire Council is scheduled to meet on 20 November 2025 to discuss internal and external audit reports, the council's pension fund, risk management, and governance matters. West Northamptonshire Council's Cabinet met to discuss a range of issues, including housing management, budget adjustments for the Market Square project, and several annual reports related to safeguarding and education. The Cabinet approved a phased approach to bring housing services management back into the council, an increase to the Market Square capital budget, and the adoption of a policy statement for supporting children unable to attend school.

At a meeting of the West Northamptonshire Council Cabinet, members approved a new Family Help Strategy, endorsed an updated approach to locality-based prevention, and approved several service plans related to health protection and enforcement. The Cabinet also agreed to exclude the press and public to discuss the restoration of property for service use.

Children, Education and Housing Overview and Scrutiny Committee - Thursday 2nd October 2025 6.00 pm

The Children, Education and Housing Overview and Scrutiny Committee met to discuss the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Priority Action Plan, the national policy direction for early years provision, and the committee's work programme for 2025-26. The committee agreed that a SEND Priority Action Plan progress update should be given at the 1 December 2025 meeting, including the impact of online information in engaging families about available support. They also agreed to include the topic of waiting times for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) assessment in its future work programme, and to scrutinise geographical differences in the take-up of early education and childcare entitlement in West Northamptonshire.
