The Hertfordshire County Council Audit Committee met to discuss risk management, the adult social care workforce, and internal audit services. The Environment, Transport and Growth Cabinet Panel met to discuss several key initiatives, including the challenges facing Hertfordshire's high streets, the local nature recovery strategy, and the spatial development strategy. The panel agreed to promote a summit or conference on the future of high streets and town centres, and also agreed to note the report on the local nature recovery strategy, thanking the organisations that contributed to it. The panel also noted the report on the spatial development strategy and the local transport plan.

The Hertfordshire County Council Audit Committee met to discuss the draft accounts, treasury management, governance, risk, and fraud-related matters. The committee approved the Annual Governance Statement 2024/25 and Code of Corporate Governance 2025/26 and agreed to a risk focus report on the shortage of social care workforce for the next meeting. The committee also noted reports on the draft accounts and audit update, treasury management, risk management, anti-fraud measures, internal audit progress, and whistleblowing.

County Council - Tuesday, 22 July 2025 10.00 am

The Hertfordshire County Council met to discuss a range of issues, including political proportionality, traffic congestion, youth justice, and local government reorganisation, and ultimately voted to continue exploring options for local government reorganisation, while also agreeing to re-establish a youth parliament. The council also paid tribute to former Councillor Alan Plancy, MBE, who recently passed away.
