Local Authority Housing Fund- Round 3

From: Extraordinary, Council - Tuesday, 6th May, 2025 6.00 pm - May 06, 2025

The Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) has launched a third round of Local Authority Housing Funding for Local Authorities to provide accommodation to families with housing needs. RBBC has put in an Expression of Interest for grant funding to purchase 4 further properties under this round and agreement is sought to accept this funding, enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with MHCLG, commit the required additional funding from Council Capital Receipt Reserves, and to proceed to purchase, refurbish and let the properties. All properties are intended to be let as Temporary Accommodation; three to be let to those owed a Homelessness Duty by RBBC, and one to a refugee family requiring resettlement.
