The Overview & Scrutiny Committee met to consider a call-in request regarding the Cabinet's decision to market County Hall for alternative uses and relocate democratic meetings. The Overview and Scrutiny Committee of Hertfordshire Council met on Wednesday 25 June 2025 to discuss permanent exclusions in Hertfordshire schools, workforce recruitment and retention, and the scrutiny work programme for 2025-26. The committee noted the report on permanent exclusions and requested additional data. They also endorsed the workforce recruitment and retention overview, and approved the scrutiny work programme for the upcoming year with agreed amendments.

Annual Meeting, County Council - Tuesday, 20 May 2025 10.00 am

At the annual meeting of Hertfordshire County Council, Councillor Laurence Brass was elected as the new Chairman, and Councillor Sandy Walkington was elected as Vice-Chairman. Councillor Steve Jarvis was elected as the Leader of the Council, marking a shift from the previous Conservative administration.
