Education and Local Economy Scrutiny Commission - Tuesday 8 April 2025 7.00 pm

The Education and Local Economy Scrutiny Commission meeting included a discussion of youth employment support, an update on the East Street Market renovation, and a report on the Southwark Safeguarding Children Partnership. The commission was also scheduled to discuss draft scrutiny recommendations and its work programme for the year.

Licensing Sub-Committee - Thursday 27 March 2025 10.00 am

The Licensing Sub-Committee was scheduled to convene to consider a premises licence application for The Greyhound, a pub on Peckham High Street. The application, submitted by E5 Pubs London Ltd, seeks to modify the operating times and licensable activities at the venue. The sub-committee was also scheduled to consider representations for and against the application.

Ordinary meeting, Council Assembly - Wednesday 19 March 2025 7.00 pm

The Council Assembly of Southwark Council on Wednesday 19 March 2025 saw the passing of a motion on green and leisure spaces, a motion on the extension of the franchise, a motion to support the creation of a National Care Service for England, and the approval of several reports. The Assembly also received community evidence submissions, heard a deputation, and responded to public and members’ questions.
