Overview and Scrutiny Performance Board - Thursday, 16th October, 2025 10.00 am
The Overview and Scrutiny Performance Board met to discuss the One Worcestershire local government reorganisation proposal, its financial implications, and the scrutiny work programme for the coming year. Councillors expressed concerns about the lack of a complete business case, the potential for council tax increases, and the need for public consultation. The Board agreed to explore options for an additional meeting to scrutinise the One Worcestershire proposal before it goes to the full council.
Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee - Friday, 10th October, 2025 10.00 am
The Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee (HOSC) met on 10 October 2025 to discuss the Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment, winter planning, and to refresh the scrutiny work programme for 2025/26. Representatives from Worcestershire County Council's Public Health Team, NHS England (NHSE), NHS Herefordshire and Worcestershire Integrated Care Board (HWICB) and the Local Pharmaceutical Committee (LPC) were expected to be in attendance. Councillor Karen May, Chair of the Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee, was scheduled to chair the meeting.
Overview and Scrutiny Performance Board - Wednesday, 24th September, 2025 10.00 am
The Overview and Scrutiny Performance Board (OSPB) met to discuss the Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership's (WLEP) annual report, noting its progress against the Plan for Growth (2020-2040) and agreeing to transfer WLEP activity into the Economy Overview & Scrutiny Panel's work programme from 2026/27. The board also reviewed and updated its work programme and the Cabinet Forward Plan, and considered suggestions for a new Scrutiny Task Group.
Council - Thursday, 11th September, 2025 10.00 am
The Worcestershire County Council met to discuss a range of issues, including treasury management, school places, local government reorganisation, and climate change. Councillors approved a healthcare parking permit scheme, but rejected a motion to withdraw the council's bid for a single unitary authority. They also agreed with the scientific consensus that man-made climate change exists.
Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee - Monday, 8th September, 2025 2.00 pm
The Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee met to discuss community engagement in health improvement, review the committee's work programme, and identify priorities for the future. Councillors heard about several initiatives aimed at empowering local communities to take an active role in improving their health and wellbeing, including the Priority Neighbourhood Development Programme, school grants, and the use of green spaces. The committee agreed to continue its focus on reviewing the 2022-2032 health and wellbeing strategy and empowering the new council formed after local government reorganisation to continue and build on current work.
