The Waltham Forest Council met to discuss a range of topics, including amendments to the council's constitution, treasury management, and a motion regarding support for local businesses. Councillors agreed to amend the Council Procedure Rules and the Councillor's Code of Conduct, and noted reports on treasury management activities, scrutiny, and the use of emergency provisions. The council also rejected a Conservative Group motion calling for support for local businesses.

The Waltham Forest Council Planning Committee met on 14 October 2025, and approved planning permission for a roof extension in Woodford Green, a residential development in Walthamstow, and the change of use of a property in Leyton to a children's care home.

Communities and Public Protection Scrutiny Committee - Wednesday, 17th September, 2025 7.00 pm

The Communities and Public Protection Scrutiny Committee met to discuss knife crime, community safety, and review the Problem Solving Partnership Meeting. Councillor Jack Phipps, Chair of the Committee, was scheduled to lead the meeting. The committee was also expected to review and refine its work programme for the year.

The committee delegated authority to the Assistant Director - Development Management and Building Control to formalise the wording of conditions and reasons for refusal, if necessary.
