Purpose

1.The Council receives an annual allocation
from the Safe Roads stands of the CRSTS for the promotion of Safe
Roads projects across the Bradford district.

2 At the meeting of Executive Committee on 12 June 2018 approval
was given to establish a top-slice from the existing Safer Roads
budget for strategic schemes. The resolution was for delegated
authority be given to the Strategic Director of Place in
consultation with the Portfolio Holder to approve and promote
strategic or district wide projects from the Safer Roads budget
allocation. It was also acknowledged that the Area Committees
needed to retain a proportion of the overall budget to enable
targeted prioritisation of local safety and community issues.

3 The apportionment of the district’s 2023-24 Safe Roads
budget and a partial programme of schemes for the strategic element
was approved via Decision Sheet on 2 May 2023.

4 Allocation for the residual funding and a minor amendment to the
programme was approved by previous Decision Sheet.

5 This report seeks approval for an amendment to the revised
approved programme to allow for additional strategic spend on
safety cameras.
