Purpose

1. The Council carried out an online
consultation proposing a village-wide scheme
encompassing a 20mph zone, traffic calming, a one-way street,
resident permit
parking and a priority give-way feature. The consultation documents
were also
displayed in the Libraries at Menston and Burley in Wharfedale.
Feedback from the
consultation was favourable and is attached as Appendix 1.
2. Following the consultation, the council noted the comments made
and where
possible, the scheme was updated and revised. The revisions were
sent to the
Ward Councillors for comments, these proposals were approved.
3. That approval is given for the advertisement and implementation
of the necessary
Traffic Orders. Any objections to the advertisements to be
considered by Decision
sheet for the Strategic Director in consultation with the Portfolio
Holder.
4. That approval is given to proceed with the detailed design and
implementation of the
proposals.
