Purpose
1 The Council receives an annual allocation
from the Safe Roads strands of the
CRSTS for the promotion of Safe Roads projects across the Bradford
district.
2 At the meeting of Executive Committee on 12 June 2018 approval
was given to
establish a top-slice from the existing Safer Roads budget for
strategic schemes.
The resolution was for delegated authority be given to the
Strategic Director of
Place in consultation with the Portfolio Holder to approve and
promote strategic or
district wide projects from the Safer Roads budget allocation. It
was also
acknowledged that the Area Committees needed to retain a proportion
of the
overall budget to enable targeted prioritisation of local safety
and community
issues.
3 This report seeks approval for the apportionment of the overall
Safe Roads budget
allocation for 2024-25 and also for a programme of Strategic Safe
Roads projects
for 2024-25.
Content
i) That approval be given to the apportionment
of the CRSTS Safe Roads budget for
2024-25 as detailed in Appendices 1 and 2 and to progress the
projects detailed
within this report.
ii) That any additional funding required to complete the 2024/25
programme is
prioritised as part of the 2025/26 Strategic Safe Roads
allocation.
iii) That authorisation be given to promote any necessary Traffic
Regulation Orders,
Speed Limit Orders, Traffic Calming Measures or Pedestrian
Crossings associated
with the projects detailed within this report.
iv) That any valid objections to the Orders, Traffic Calming
Measures or Pedestrian
Crossings within the strategic element of the programme be given
consideration by
the Strategic Director Place in consultation with the Portfolio
Holder Regeneration,
Planning and Transport or, in the event of there being no valid
objections the
Orders be sealed and implemented and/or Traffic Calming Measures or
Pedestrian
Crossings implemented as advertised.
